SAWHOT - Project Summary
Surface Acoustic Wave Wireless sensors for high operating temperature environmentsThe Opportunity
Research in new piezo-electric materials offers the opportunity to develop and design SAW sensors the ability to resist in a wide temperature range. So it makes possible to measure wireless (with the SAW technologies) some physical indicators in High Temperature Environment, such as nano-based production processes.
The Project
To develop piezo-electric Surface Acoustic Wave physical sensor technology operating in a wide temperature range up to 650°C with wireless transmission of sensing energy and read-out signal. Applications targeted are those involving harsh environment areas e.g. in monitoring nano-based production processes. The temperature measurement will be addressed.
